About Highlands

Located in historic Las Vegas, New Mexico, with locations in Santa Fe, Rio Rancho, Farmington and Albuquerque, Highlands University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in liberal arts and sciences as well as comprehensive programs in business, teacher education, and social work. Our mission is to serve students through personal attention. We maintain open enrollment, small classes, and cost-effective tuition. We are known nationally for research activities, student and faculty achievement, and opportunities for students to combine study with real-world experience.

When you’re not in class or studying, we want you to enjoy student life. Our Outdoor Recreation Center provides free rentals on camping, biking and water sports equipment. NMHU is nestled in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains and is within driving distance from several lakes, ski resorts, and hiking areas.
